Closing the Loop on Corrugated Packaging
The linear model of packaging — manufacture, use once, discard — wastes enormous amounts of energy, water, and raw materials. At Boise Boxes, every service we offer is designed to extend the life of corrugated packaging and keep valuable fiber out of landfills.
When a business sells us their used boxes through our buyback program, those boxes are inspected, graded, and refurbished if needed. They re-enter commerce at a fraction of the cost of new packaging. When a box finally reaches the end of its structural life, we ensure it is recycled into new corrugated board — not buried in a landfill.
This circular approach means that the corrugated fiber in our supply chain can be reused 5 to 7 times before it needs to be supplemented with virgin material. The environmental savings are significant: 70% less energy consumption, 50% less water usage, and 17 trees saved for every ton of corrugated material reused instead of manufactured from scratch.

Source & Collect
We acquire used boxes from businesses throughout the Treasure Valley through our buyback program, partner networks, and direct supplier relationships. Every box enters our facility for assessment.
Inspect & Grade
Each box undergoes a hands-on inspection. We evaluate structural integrity, wall strength, flap condition, contamination, and overall usability. Boxes are sorted into Grade A through D, or flagged for recycling if they cannot be reused.
Refurbish & Restore
Boxes that need minor repairs — flap reattachment, tape replacement, wall reinforcement — are restored by our team. This step extends the usable life of boxes that would otherwise be downgraded or recycled prematurely.
Stock & Sell
Graded, ready-to-ship boxes are organized by size, wall type, and condition in our warehouse. Customers can order by phone, email, or through our website and receive same-day or next-day delivery across the Boise metro.
Recycle & Repeat
Boxes that have reached the end of their structural life are baled and sent to certified recycling facilities where the fiber is pulped and re-manufactured into new corrugated board — completing the circular loop.
